Project Spotlight – Custom Drive-In Pallet Rack in Valley City, ND

Today’s material handling project spotlight features a custom drive-in pallet rack storage system designed by CEO Al Boston and completed with the help of Senior Project Account Specialist Brenda Harrison.

This project was completed in a warehouse facility near Valley City, ND, and was phase three for this client since moving into their new building three years ago. In 2010 we completed the first phase of this project by installing some standard pallet rack along with two pallets of deep drive-in pallet storage. In 2011 the second phase was completed and added more custom drive-in pallet rack to their facility. As they continued to grow in 2013 they decided to add another custom-designed Drive-In pallet storage rack system.

Drive-in pallet rack is a high-density pallet storage system utilized in warehouses to maximize space while limiting aisle space. Access aisles are kept to a minimum with drive-in rack achieving virtually double or more storage capacity. The most common product cycle for a drive-in rack system is FILO (First In Last Out).

North Dakota Speedrack Drive-In Pallet Storage Rack System

This custom drive-in pallet storage rack system was installed to maximize our client’s space while also meeting their need of storing and loading pallets from all sides of the pallet. This rack system was designed to store pallets both in the 40″ wide way and also the 48″ wide way. This helped our client store their products efficiently for one of their specific customers who needed the trucks to be loaded with the pallets resting side by side the long 48″ wide way, maximizing their trailer space.
