Coming up in just a few weeks is ProMat 2013, a material handling trade show that its organizers call the “premier showcase of material handling, supply chain and logistics solutions in North America.” It’s tempting to dismiss that kind of boastful language as the marketing spin from the organizers.
In this case, though, they happen to be right. Held every two years at McCormick Place in Chicago, ProMat is a showcase of the latest technologies in the material handling industry. From Jan. 21-24, more than 700 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest technologies along more than 300,000 net square feet of the show floor. Without a doubt, it will once again be fun, interesting, and educational.
One of the highlights of ProMat each year is seeing the new technologies that different manufacturers have come up with in their products. From the camera and machine vision technologies to new conveyor and sortation technologies, ProMat is the place to find it.
But it isn’t only on the trade show floor where there will be a focus on technology. Along with the exhibits, the ProMat 2013 Educational Conference offers highly-focused seminars in specially designed theaters constructed right on the trade show floor. The educational seminars will focus on the latest material handling and logistics innovations and applications as well as industry issues such as supply chain visibility, ergonomics, and worker safety.
Al Boston, president of AK Material Handling Systems, will be presenting an educational seminar on January 22. See the video below for more on what Boston will be discussing in his presentation.
This is the kind of thing that makes ProMat such an important industry event. It’s not every day that you get a chance to learn from an industry veteran like Al and receive take-home value on how to improve your business.
We hope to see you in the aisles at McCormick Place, January 21-24!
