Springing into 2017 with New Team Members Tim and Danielle

Spring is always a time of change and growth. At AK, we find that the longer, sunnier days and nicer weather often motivate us towards positive change and growth as a company as well. And that makes Spring the perfect time to welcome new members to our team.

Last April, we welcomed Bookkeeper Danielle Strege and Warehouse Specialist Tim Kaden to the AK family, as we set our sights on new, more ambitious goals for the coming years. Help us welcome Tim and Danielle by learning more about them in this double feature employee spotlight.

Danielle Strege, Bookkeeper

What is your role at AK, and what are some of the duties that come with it?

“I am the bookkeeper at AK. Some of the duties…well…I am still trying to figure that out, so I will keep you posted!”

What first sparked your interest in AK?

“I did not know much about AK before I applied for the position and was contacted to schedule an interview. Once I started looking into it, AK just seemed like a great place to work. Seeing the awards for being one of the top 100 companies to work for in MN really excited me, as I had been looking for somewhere to learn and grow.”

What do you think of your time here so far?

“I have been here almost a week, and so far I am really enjoying it. All of the people are so friendly and welcoming. I love the fact that everyone treats each other like family (even if half the people are related in some way!). I love how relaxed the environment is around here even though everyone works hard. And I really look forward to getting to know everyone better!”

What are some of your hobbies and passions?

“My hobbies and passions…hmm. I am married with a 4 year old daughter, so my family is my world. I am a reader, though. I love animals, too – my house would be full of pets if my husband would let me!”

Tell us something fun and/or interesting about yourself?

“When I was 10 years old I got stuck on a ferris wheel for two and a half hours with a friend who had never been on a ferris wheel before! It was at the Osseo Lion’s Roar carnival, and the fire department had to send a cherry picker to come and get us down.”

What is your favorite:

Music group/artist/genre: “I hate it when things are silent – I always have music playing. I enjoy pretty much all genres of music, and what I’m listening to depends on my mood, but my default is country music.”

Food: “Chipotle!!”

Sport/team: “No comment….(Go Pack Go!!)”

Movie: “A comedy with a love story involved is all I require.”

Place to visit: “I haven’t traveled too much, but there is nothing better than being out in the middle of nowhere on a lake, listening to the waves and seeing the countless number of stars. If I ever make it to an ocean, I may change my mind though.”

We have a superhero theme here at AK, and we have all picked out superhero aliases for ourselves. If you had to pick one superhero to be your superhero alias, who would it be?“Mystique.”
