Team AK: Three New Rising Stars

It has been a while since we posted some updates about the growing staff at AK so we have decided to recap the last year and spot three rising stars that have joined the AK team in the meantime. ______________________________________________________________________ Shawn Jones   Warehouse / Accounting Date of hire: 5/7/12 Tell us something fun about yourself? I love going to the zoo with my daughter and watching the monkeys! What is your Material Handling background? I worked in the warehouse at Sports Authority for three years. After two weeks what has been the most interesting part about joining the AK team? Learning all the variable parts to pallet racking. Are you married? Do you have any children? I am married to my wife Jackie and have one daughter What do you enjoy doing in your free time away from work? I enjoy spending time with my daughter, playing softball, watching football, and playing video games (yes I am a Kid at heart). What interests you most about working at AK Material Handling Systems? It is an established company that is going in the right direction. ______________________________________________________________________ Adam Hansen Inside Sales Date of hire: 2/8/11 After one year with AKMHS, what have you enjoyed most? I would have to say learning about everything within the industry. Every day there is something new to learn about. You are a big part of the volunteer team at AKMHS that volunteers after hours at different organizations. What continues to drive you to volunteer your own time to help? Helping those out who aren’t as fortunate as we are. Knowing that what I am doing is helping out those who don’t have the luxuries that we have. Now a year into the material handling and pallet rack industry did you ever imagine there could be this much to know about warehouse pallet rack systems? Nope! When I first started I never realized how many different options people had. It is amazing to see all of the different styles, sizes, and designs that people have in their warehouses. What is the most rewarding part of your current position? I would have to say helping customers find the product they are looking for. It’s always very satisfying when you have a customer appreciate what you do for them and they are happy with the product that they receive. Tell us something interesting and fun about yourself… I am a huge sports fan. When I am not working I am usually watching some type of sports or out playing some sport. ______________________________________________________________________ Tiege Quinn Warehouse  Date of hire: 3/1/11 After one year with AKMHS, what have you enjoyed most? I give back when I can because you never know when it might be you that needs a hand. Now a year into the material handling and pallet rack industry did you ever imagine there could be this much to know about warehouse pallet rack systems? Never. Still learning. What is the most rewarding part of your current position? Knowing that I am part of a fun-growing company that cares about its employees. Tell us something interesting and fun about yourself… This summer on the weekends I will be actively fishing in tournaments trying to become a pro fisherman. ______________________________________________________________________
