Problem: Not enough space in the shipping and receiving area.
Sometimes, you can never have enough space in the loading and unloading areas. A common mistake in a good number of warehouses is underestimating the space needed for shipping and receiving.
If the product must be handled, sorted, tagged, etc., more space needs to allow for that area. Not to mention, a forklift needs space to back out from the semi-trailer and turn. Throw in staging for outbound orders and you can have a real mess.
Tip: When space planning, make sure all of these operations are accounted for when planning the overall space for your shipping and receiving area.
