There should be absolutely no doubt in any forklift operator’s mind about the rack capacity for each and every spot in their warehouse. According to the Rack Manufactures Institute, RMI all pallet rack installations should display in one or more obvious locations, a permanent plaque showing maximum unit load, maximum uniformly distributed load per level, the average unit load, and maximum total load per bay. If this is not displayed properly and understood by operators in the area safety is compromised. “When in doubt shout it out!”
