Hello and welcome to my second edition of “Making Green on the Green”
Making Green on the Green was created to share with our readers how I relate running a business to playing the game of golf. In the first edition of this series, I share the comparison of being successful by having a plan.
“Whether playing golf or running a material handling distributor, your results will depend on how well you have spent your time studying “the game” and developing a detailed plan on how to proceed.”
Once you have a plan it is time to start executing to get your planned results. If your playing world-class golf you have to practice your plan. Without rehearsal, it is only a plan. With rehearsal, it becomes a successful game of golf. Rehearsal is practice, whether you are feeling up to it or not. Once you are in competition it is not practice.
You perform or you lose, just like real life in whatever career you pursue. So the second part of success is to execute your plan.
The first drill is to make four three-foot puts in a row on the practice green. A 300-yard drive does you no good if you cannot close the deal with a three-foot put.
